This is my work for "Silk Screen" project. This is a sentence from a Cantonese song called "Chin Chin Kyut Go" (千千闕歌). This is one of my favourite songs. The name of this song basically means " A Thousand Songs." Compare to the original singer of this song, I like the version of Leslie Cheung more. He is one of my favourite singers.
This song describes an unfortunate story. A person fell in love with another but they have to broke up. He looking back slowly at the nights they once belonged to each other. He realizes the enchantment of sorrow because their separation draws near. The lyrics are lovely and exquisite. I translated my favourite part of the song in English below:
Even if one day the wind carries to my path a thousand romantic encounters, even if one-day thousands of stars shine brighter than tonight's moon, They cannot compare to the beauty of this evening.
Neither will I appreciate them more, Because tonight you are singing with me.
On the canvas, I painted the sentence of " even if one-day thousands of stars shine brighter than tonight's moon." I really like this sentence. This is a really romantic descriptive sentence.
For this Silk Screen project, I designed the layout and wrote this sentence down on a paper. Then I took a picture of it. I use white and red to paint this artwork. This two colour are contrasting, and the effect of it is more apparent.
